Sandy Skoglund

Laura and I decided we needed a change of scenery so while waiting for our campaigns field trip to the printing press today we went and sat on the top floor of the Lillis business building and watched people walk by below. We were trying to make up their life stories and were talking about art when we stumbled upon the artist Sandy Skoglund. Skoglund is an American artist and photographer who creates surrealist images by building elaborate sets or tableaux, furnishing them with carefully selected colored furniture, other objects, and actors. The works are characterized by an overwhelming amount of one object and either bright, contrasting colors or a monochromatic color scheme. So anyway, pretty cool. Maybe something to keep in mind when I am thinking about Velvet color schemes and designs.
